CHARITABLE DONATIONS

Express Recruitment are currently supporting two charities:-

DIABETES UK

DIABETES TOUCHES THE LIVES OF OVER 2 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UK

Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the UK working for people with diabetes, with 170,000 members.
Diabetes UK funds vital research to find a future without diabetes in addition to helping adults and children to manage their existing condition.
The charity provides support holidays for children and their families and provides a careline giving information and support for people living with diabetes.

Annually we provide donations to this most worthy cause in additions to supporting the charity with various purchases throughout the year.

Any donations can be given to the Express Recruitment charity account : Contact Kate or Click on the link www.diabetes.org.uk.

SARA( Societe Protectora de Animales y Plantas Animal protection society)

This is an unusual but no less worthy and most definitely the most needy animal care charity we have ever come across.

On the Island of Lanzarote there is only one animal care organisation who do their very best to take in every stray and unwanted dogs and cats on the island!

The charity survives solely from donations given by individuals and businesses on the island but because the island is relatively new in terms of commercial and public infrastructure there are no legacies in place. Furthermore, as tourism is by far the islands largest industry, the workforce is fairly low paid with very little disposable income to spare for charitable donations.

Hence funds are always much needed to manage the upkeep of the animal shelter and feed the cats and dogs.

Why are we supporting this charity?

The Directors of the company spend their holidays on the island and spend a great deal of their time when on holiday at the sanctuary.

Both animal lovers they admit to being in “bits” when first visiting SARA.

No healthy animal is ever euthanased by the charity which means that many animals spend the whole of their lives “behind bars” in the searing heat. Some dogs are never exercised outside the confines of the sanctuary as the volunteers tend to choose the pretty and cute and easy dogs rather than the ugly, boisterous ones which hardly seems fair.

Our aim is to contribute to the well being of the animals by raising funds to improve the fabric of the shelter.

The shelter can be visited should you ever holiday on the island and if you would like to view the charity site you can link www.saralanzarote.com.

Alternatively if you would like to make a donation locally please contact Lesley in our Nottingham Office.

You also have the opportunity to sponsor one of the many “inmates” or if you are a really serious dog lover there is currently a scheme to bring some of the dogs back to the UK and loving adoption homes are required.
