Express Recruitment are currently supporting two charities:-
DIABETES UKDIABETES TOUCHES THE LIVES OF OVER 2 MILLION PEOPLE IN THE UK
Diabetes UK is the largest organisation in the country working for people with diabetes. With over 170,000 members, the charity funds vital research to find a future without diabetes and, in addition, helps adults and children to manage their existing condition.
The charity provides support through, for example, holidays for children and their families and runs a care line giving information and advice for people living with diabetes.
Any donations can be given to the Express Recruitment charity account or by visiting www.diabetes.org.uk
SARA( Societe Protectora de Animales y Plantas Animal protection society)This is definitely the most needy animal care charity we have ever come across.
On the Island of Lanzarote there is only one animal care organisation which does its very best to take in every stray and unwanted dog and cat.
The charity survives solely from donations given by individuals and businesses on the island but, as the commercial and public infrastructure is relatively new on Lanzarote, there are no legacies in place. Furthermore, as tourism is by far the island’s largest industry, there is limited disposal disposable income available for charitable donations.
Therefore, funds are always much needed to manage the upkeep of the animal shelter and feed the dogs and cats.
Why are we supporting this charity?
When on holiday, the Directors of Express Recruitment spend a great deal of their time at the sanctuary. Both animal lovers, they admit to being in “bits” when first visiting SARA.
As no healthy animal is ever euthanased by the charity, many animals spend the whole of their lives “behind bars” in the searing heat. As the volunteers tend to focus on the pretty, cute and easy dogs, rather than the ugly, boisterous ones, some dogs are never exercised outside the confines of the sanctuary.
Our aim is to contribute to the well being of the animals by raising funds to improve the fabric of the shelter and to re-house a minimum of 12 dogs per year in homes in the UK.
If you are on holiday in Lanzarote, you can visit the shelter, or you can visit the charity’s site www.saralanzarote.com.
Alternatively, if you would like to make a donation locally, please contact Lesley Beauchamp on 0115 924 0010 or at Lesley@express-recruitment.co.uk
You also have the opportunity to sponsor one of the many “inmates” or if you are a really serious dog lover there is currently a scheme to bring some of the dogs to the UK and, therefore, loving adoption homes are required. If you would like to know more then please click here for pdf1.
Thank you
