Express Recruitment are proud to be working with one of the UK’s most prestigious and pioneering engineering firms. They require an authoritative Health and Safety Manager to implement new Health and Safety solutions and uphold current legislation in accordance with current laws. The role is based in the East Midlands

  • Developing a modernised Health and Safety programme and implementing new policies and enforced regulations into future contractual documents and employee handbooks
  • Implementing compulsory Health and Safety management training and assessment days
  • Pre planning  and scheduling internal team meetings with departmental managers in order to provide advice and support
  • Ensuring that the company remains fully compliant under universal Health and Safety and Environmental Law.
  • Carrying out Health and Safety audits on and off site whilst taking necessary investigation measures to determine risk assessment levels
  • Maintaining an update incident report in order to compile statistical data used in quarterly management reviews and company audits
  • Promoting the companies Health and Safety compliance and acting as an ambassador for the company when in attendance of commercial events
  • Acting as the point of contact for all 3rd party company visits
  • Maintaining the company Fire Protection Log and carrying out all necessary tests and safety drills
  • Escalating necessary disciplinary action with senior management against any staff members not complying with company legislation
  • Governing legal and commercial proceedings and dealing with escalated issues
  • Working continuously to provide innovative solutions to reduce incident statistics and reports
  • Maintaining strong customer relationships and promoting new business through client liaison
  • Maintaining an in depth knowledge of the companies health and safety legislation and identifying major ‘high risk’ projects

Qualifications, experience and skills:

  • BSC, IOSH, NEBOSH or similar level of Health and Safety qualification
  • Previous experience within a manufacturing environment is essential
  • Excellent understanding of health and safety legislation and quality standards
  • Highly efficient and possess the ability to self-motivate
  • High level of IT proficiency across all MS Office packages
  • Full UK driving license
