We are looking for an ambitious and knowledgeable Support Engineer for a fast-growing company based in the Nottingham city centre. After recent expansion and the addition of new clients they are looking to add another technically minded person to their team. This role will, for the foreseeable future, be remote based but their normal offices are in the city centre.

The successful candidate will be acting in a key position providing technical support to clients, working with various applications and internal systems to analyse, diagnose and resolve issues in a timely manner.

This position would best suit someone who is interested in furthering a career in IT and is eager to learn as much as they can in an environment that will foster their growth. This employer is always looking to aid self-improvement and promotion with further training.

Responsibilities:

  • Providing support via telephone, e-mail, and remote desktop to clients
  • Identifying, co-ordinating and resolving incidents as quickly as possible
  • Proposing improvements to the IT support system that would help improve the company’s user satisfaction
  • Working with disaster recovery and business continuity procedures and policies
  • Ensuring the smooth running and reliability of client systems
  • Working as part of a team to resolve issues as soon as possible
  • Attending client sites when necessary

Background:

  • Experience providing technical support in a similar position
  • Excellent and proven customer service skills and the ability to discuss and describe technical faults with non-technical personnel
  • Knowledge of software configuration and troubleshooting
  • A technically minded approach to solving problems and issues as well as a passion for problem solving
  • The ability to explain technical issues to non-technical personnel
  • Knowledge of networking and infrastructure
