Due to major expansion plans coming to fruition, our client is in the market for a meticulous and conscientious Automation Site Safety Lead to help spearhead implementation projects for site safety policies, regarding a multi-million-pound automation installation project.

The successful candidate can expect a generous salary package of up to £70k, plus lots of other great benefits including pension, discount schemes and a training assistance programme.

Due to the nature of this role, this position is 100% site based and therefore cannot accommodate hybrid working.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Leading a small on-site Health & Safety team and ensure daily workloads are set
  • Consult regularly with major stakeholders and outline strategic recommendations and provide ongoing advice and support relating to enhanced safety procedures and policies being enforced on site
  • Collaborate with the Head of Automation with ongoing automation installation and CDM projects
  • Create robust training regimes which are to be deployed across the site teams including Warehouse, Engineering and Dispatch
  • Conduct rigorous investigations of machine lines and bespoke automation equipment, highlighting ‘red light’ risks and recommended modifications to improve overall safety processes
  • Perform full scale site audits and produce detailed statistical reports based on findings, and present to the Head of Automation and major stakeholders

Qualifications & Experience

  • Holder of an NV6 Level 6 Health & Safety Diploma or relevant degree required
  • Holder of a NEBOSH Diploma
  • Up to date knowledge of UK safety regulations and policies
  • Demonstrable experience within the logistics, warehouse or automation engineering sectors highly desirable
  • Well versed with CDM regulations
  • Sound working knowledge of machine safety legislation advantageous
  • Certified auditor qualification preferred
  • Exceptional communication and people skills on all senior levels
  • Full UK Driving Licence
