You will be responsible for all aspects of commercial management company wide, ensuring successful execution and timely delivery of Highways, Marine, Rail and Utility projects.

In return, you can expect to receive a generous starting salary of up to c£47,000 per annum, plus generous holidays, sick pay, pension, private medical insurance and first-class training and development opportunities.

You will be contracted to a 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional opportunities for remote working included.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Oversee all commercial activity across the firm’s entire range of projects, from Highways Infrastructure to Utilities sectors
• Support the board of Directors and provide detailed reporting and analysis
• Take ownership of building lasting client relationships and acting as first point of contact for any commercial related enquiries or issues
• Attend project meetings and inform attendees of current project status
• Support the tendering and bidding activity as required, providing insightful commercial and financial feedback to the business development management department
• Implement commercial best-practice procedures in order to maximise value and minimise project risk and incurred costs
• Oversee commercial compliance and operational duties are carried our correctly including invoicing, procurement, and any other contractual requirements such as change requests
• Execute effective plans to improve overall accuracy of forecasting, including WIP and cash-flow for all projects
• Attend UK client sites when required

Skills & Experience 

• Demonstrable Commercial/Contract Management experience within the Civil Engineering industry sector
• Experienced in leading and motivating a Commercial team
• Educated background in technical engineering subject desirable
• Proven experience in reporting, tendering, negotiating and claims management
• Resolution management experience preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills on all senior levels
