Express Recruitment is proud to be representing one of the UK’s firmly established construction companies, who are leading specialists within their niche area. Due to substantial company growth, our client are seeking a commercially astute Estimator to join their growing Nottingham based team.

Duties include but are not limited to:

• Report directly to the Senior Estimator, carrying out day to day duties which will vary greatly depending on client activity
• Respond rapidly to client bids and provide initial cost assessments based on their specifications and expectations
• Utilise estimating software to maintain accurate records and diarising client meetings and site visits
• Prepare detailed quotations as a result of obtaining full scope of client requirements
• Negotiate contracts and liaise with supply chain to ensure pricing is correct
• Maintain in-depth commercial awareness of the current market and identify project risks and financial gain opportunities
• Adhere to tight project deadlines

To be successful in this role you will:

• HNC/City & Guilds or similar in Construction related subject
• Possess a good understanding of general construction techniques and processes
• Excellent time management skills
• Good understanding of supply chain management and project management
• Confident in negotiating contractual elements and presenting their works to senior management
• Proficient IT skills – Excel, ERP/MRP, estimating software
• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and diagrams
