We are looking for a highly capable and ambitious Software Engineer Team Lead to join a busy Software House in 2021. This will be working as part of a cutting-edge Software House whose products have been “Covid Proof” allowing them to continue with their growth plans into next year.

This role would ideally suit someone with an analytical and problem-solving mind, who has experience within a hands-on role as well as with some people management. Whether that is team leadership or mentoring junior developers – helping provide guidance and deeper understanding to the next generation of developers should be something that you are genuinely passionate about doing.

While Agile working would be fantastic to have, most important is a good understanding of the SDLC alongside excellent stakeholder management experience. In exchange they offer a number of career growth opportunities including certifications, further learning and numerous technical opportunities.

 This is not a role where you will be expected to work weekends or until midnight, our client are dedicated to their low overtime culture – and they really mean that. 

Alongside this they can offer working from home (continuing after covid) and flexi-hours for work times. When you are in the office they have parking onsite as well as showers for cyclists and a number of public transport routes.

 Duties: 

  • Act as a subject matter expert for Engineering and liaise with different departments and committees across the company
  • Provide mentorship for senior staff and lead them in making technical decisions and dictating wider strategy
  • Take ownership of the delivery of technical roadmaps for the platforms for which the role is responsible
  • Be responsible for staff management including 121s and performance appraisals
  • Take part in identifying new features and technologies that can help stay on the forefront of the industry
  • Always be on the lookout for new tech and processes that you think can help the company stay on the cutting edge

Background

  • Demonstratable experience within cross functional relationship building as well as stakeholder management
  • A background within Software Development and some experience in a hands-on role would be ideal (preferably with Microsoft Tech Stack)
  • Knowledge of Agile processes and best practices beneficial
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A real passion for mentoring and providing leadership within a technical environment
