Express Recruitment are proud to be supporting one of Nottingham’s most original manufacturers as due to ongoing success within their niche market, they are seeking an experienced and ‘hands on’ Factory Maintenance Manager to join their talented team.

You will be required to support the General Manager with the day to day running of production and handle various engineering projects as per required.

The role will require you to work Monday to Friday on day shifts (although you may have to be flexible with slightly irregular hours during peak season).

In return, you will receive a competitive starting salary of c£40,000, plus overtime and with genuine opportunities to progress to a management level position.

Roles & Responsibilities 

  • Support and help to oversee the day to day running of the maintenance team and shop floor functions
  • Manage the factory shop floor during Factory Manager’s absence
  • Respond to PPM breakdowns and assist the management team with implementation of process improvements using Lean techniques
  • Ensure QSHE standards are always upheld and report on any misconduct immediately to the Factory Manager
  • Monitor stock control reports and ensure the correct materials and equipment are ordered as per required
  • Carry out risk assessments and assembly line quality checks and produce detailed fault reports based on findings
  • Manage aspects of the company budget and highlight key areas that require investment
  • Carry out performance reviews and appraisals with staff members
  • Schedule and prioritise workloads of the site team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Assist with hands on maintenance duties including heavy lifting
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and assembly diagrams

Skills & Experience  

  • HNC in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience with heat treatment procedures, injection moulding machines desirable
  • Previous experience with reactive and proactive maintenance
  • Proven fault-finding abilities on a range of PPM
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Quality standards
  • Forklift licence desirable but not essential
  • Able to read and understand engineering drawings and specifications
