Due to ever increasing success and rapid growth, our client are seeking highly experienced and competent Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineers to join their talented team. The role will be based at their manufacturing facility in Birmingham, West Midlands.

The salary for this role pays c£40,000 and the working hours will consist of a continental shift pattern working 4 early (5:00am – 3:30pm) and 4 late shifts (3:00pm – 1:30am).

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist the Engineering Team Leader with all aspects of engineering operations in order to maintain a smooth running and fully optimised engineering performance
• Attend machine breakdowns on all PPM systems, and identify root cause of machine faults
• Ensure all PPM paperwork and documentation is completed accurately
• Incorporate LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methods into production to ensure ultimate efficiency and reduction in downtime
• Maintain high standards of Health & Safety in the workplace, adhering to all relevant hygiene and legislation
• Assist with the commissioning of new production machinery and equipment and carry out full scale testing
• Assist with internal quality control inspections and Health & Safety audits
• Report any discrepancies or repeat fault issues with machinery to the Engineering Team Leader
• Fault finding on PLC controls including Allen Bradley and Mitsubishi
• Order spare parts and materials needed for maintenance repair works, ensuring archive documents and invoices are recorded safely
• Read and follow engineering drawings and schematic diagrams

Qualifications and Experience:

• Full apprenticeship or City & Guilds in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
• 17^th or 18^th Edition qualified strongly desirable
• Previous experience in an FMCG environment strongly desirable
• Knowledge of fault finding on PPM systems
• Excellent Health & Safety awareness and knowledge of other legislation
• Ability to work unsupervised from engineering drawings
