We have an exciting new role as a Data Modelling Engineer working as part of an ambitious Technology Centre. You will be a part of the Research and Development Department for one of Nottingham’s largest movers and shakers in the technology sector as they continue to lead at the forefront of their sector.

While experience within data modelling or python development is great, equally important is experience and excellent analytical and statistical skills, whether that’s in an academic or professional background. You may have brushed on python or worked on a couple of data modelling projects as part of your role in a software house and be looking to continue in this space. Either way, we would love to hear from you.

Day to day you will be working with Python as well as machine learning methods to help produce end to end data solutions either working solo or as part of an Agile team.

  • Create mathematical and statistical models, applying the most appropriate optimisation techniques to deliver as well as source and connect to relevant data sources
  • Produce software solutions for the range of clients in the Fintech, Energy, Investment sectors
  • Solving tricky and advanced problems using your previous experience and brains
  • Liaising directly with stakeholders as well as BAs to design appropriate models and analyses
  • Automate and improve existing models
  • Taking part in an Agile work process
  • Receive training and provide mentoring for others as the business requires, especially in keeping up to date with technology

Some of the experience you may have:

  • Previous experience in a data or modelling position
  • A highly analytical background or degree in a mathematics/statistics heavy subject would be advantageous
  • Some experience with Python either in a commercial setting or in your own projects
  • Agile working experience or understanding would be beneficial
  • Experience producing software solutions and familiarity with the software development life cycle
  • Genuine intrigue in technology and data
