Due to an ever-growing UK client base and exciting merger plans on the horizon, our client is seeking to expand their specialist team, with the addition of an initiative-taking, electrical bias, and hands-on Senior Control Systems Engineer.

The ideal candidate will come in and hit the ground running, whilst communicating directly with customers on simultaneous projects and providing full turnkey solutions.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Program PLC and SCADA for robotic systems from scratch
• Conduct in depth PLC testing prior to test approval
• Compile accurate fault reports and ensure they are documented correctly
• Assist with plant layout designs and interpreting schematic diagrams
• Design control panels, structural machine designs and automated material handling equipment
• Liaise closely with mechanical design engineers to review and approve final designs
• Consult directly with customers in order to fully understand their bespoke specifications
• Oversee the entirety of the overall electrical design projects from initial concept to completion
• Read and understand engineering drawings, general arrangement drawings and schematic diagrams
• Travel to customer sites, including in the UK and Europe

Skills & Experience 

• Degree/HND/HNC in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
• The ability to design PLC/SCADA programmes from start to finish
• Proficient with Allen Bradley, Codesys, Omron, Mitsubishi, and Siemens S7 PLC’s preferred
• Demonstrable design and programming knowledge of robotic systems, including ABB and Fanuc
• Eplan P8 electrical systems design experience
• Broad product knowledge and understanding of control panels, material handling equipment, automated and plant machinery
• Full UK Driving Licence essential
• In date UK passport strongly preferable
