Express Recruitment are proud to be partnering one of the UK’s fastest growing independent maintenance contractors. Due to an increased order book and substantial forecasted growth for 2021, our client is eager to bolster their team with the addition of an accomplished Quantity Surveyor, with specific knowledge of concrete repair and maintenance works.

Although their offices are based in Derbyshire, you will be required to travel to various customer sites from time to time.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare detailed cost budgets and cost estimates for new and emerging maintenance contracts up to £4m
  • Keep existing concrete repair contracts up to date, including making amendments, providing new lump sum cost estimates and maintaining communication with the client
  • Adhere to company standards and guidelines when analyzing and providing estimations; focus on maximizing profit and customer satisfaction, while minimizing any potential risks to the company.
  • Prepare detailed, well written cost reports and bill of quantities for each client, ensuring client guidelines and specifications are fully adhered to
  • Oversee day to day running of the estimating team and delegate workloads when required
  • Maintain detailed records of all estimation documentation and surveys, including site surveys, risk assessments and contract terms; updating any existing contracts immediately upon agreement of new terms with client
  • Prepare and submit quarterly/annual financial documents
  • Balance multiple proposals and estimations at once, ensuring each reaches the client by the deadline
  • Liaise with other company departments to maintain business development and continuously innovate new profitable outcomes

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • Degree/HND qualified in Quantity Surveying
  • Proven surveying experience within civil engineering sector
  • Demonstrable understanding of concrete repair works
  • Proven experience of producing full bill of quantities and tender documents
  • Excellent communicator on all senior levels, with the ability to network affectively
  • Full UK Driving License and flexible with UK travel when required
