Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Shift Based Stock Controller & Multi-Skilled Material Handler to join their Stores and Stockyard team. The role will involve tasks including checking products for packaging issues, rotating stock, and making space for storing products in a safe manner. 

Their ideal candidate will have strong experience working within a stockyard environment, be competent at using stock control and ERP systems, and have excellent safety awareness. Due to the nature of this role, candidates will need to possess a full, clean UK driving licence, along with an external Counterbalance license, Side Loader, or Combi (In-house Side Loader/Combi License acceptable so long as you hold an in-date external Counterbalance license).  

The contracted working hours for this role consists of a 4 on/4 off shift pattern, working 12 hour days (6:00am-18:00pm). 

They are offering a competitive salary of up to c£36,000 per annum D.O.E alongside a generous benefits package including opportunity for overtime, free onsite parking, and more! 

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Maximise on space within the stockyard for products and ensure all storage and loading is undertaken safely and efficiently in line with company standards 
• Ensure daily checks are carried out on MHE equipment in accordance with site training and operating procedures 
• Investigate stock discrepancies and other business functions within the company ERP system 
• Ensure stock is receipted accurately, having an eye for detail is key 
• Review daily production plans and inventory updates via online ERP system 
• Load and transport pallets of fittings and large shaped materials into the stockyard/onto vehicles 
• Carry out initial quality checks and highlight any issues at the point of transfer 
• Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental and 5S principles are adhered to at all times  
• Monitor and report stock variations via handheld scanner using Syspro ERP system 
• Carry out loading/movement requirements safely with a high degree of care to ensure goods aren’t damaged during the movement process 
• Liaise with Stockyard Management team to achieve related targets and KPI’s 
• Ensure effective cross functional communication in matters relative to the area 
• Support/cover for loading operation as and when required 
• Highlight issues and create a daily handover for the shift rotating Stock Controller team  

Skills and Experience 

• Counterbalance, Side loader or Combi trained with current licence 
• Strong experience working within a stockyard environment 
• Good numerical and problem-solving abilities with a high attention to detail 
• Computer literate including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite 
• Experienced using stock control and ERP systems 
• Demonstrable knowledge and awareness of HSE regulations  
• Trained with experience operating a Telehandler desirable  
• Demonstrable understanding of manufacturing process, warehouse, or production line environment 
• Strong ability to liaise with clients and management at multiple levels 
• Full, clean UK driving licence
