Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a leading international technology company who are market leaders in their sector. Due to continued growth, they are now looking for a capable Engineering Manager to join one of their most exciting divisions.
You will be joining as the lead Engineering Manager for the Data and Cloud team, working with existing engineers on major projects and implementations across the company. This position is based at head office and will be a big part of the direction the company takes with regards to data in the future. Along with being hands-on, the postholder will be acting as an SME for long term strategy and vision within the company’s internal analytics and products.

You will be joining a highly technical and astute team that is becoming an increasingly more important part of the company as we move towards greater data leveraging and cloud capabilities. They can play with some of the cutting-edge technical changes that are taking place right now in regard to cloud computing and data management.

Duties:  

• Leading cost-effective data modelling, infrastructure, and data warehousing solutions on Microsoft Azure to meet business objectives
• Research and advise on new Database technologies including being a major champion of the continuing move into cloud technologies
• Access data requirements to design, build, and deploy efficient and scalable data models and ETL processes
• Take an active part in company meetings and seminars and apply your expert knowledge to help take major technical decisions
• Liaise with and manage data owners across the company
• Develop, Manage, and support data warehousing technologies
• Champion the recommendation of new technologies and methodologies, promoting the continuous improvement of the data platform
• Ensuring up to date and easy to follow documentation is maintained across all data teams

Background: 

• Experience with either Microsoft SQL Server or MySQL Database technologies essential
• Experience with some Cloud technology is essential, while we work with Microsoft Azure we are still interested to hear from candidates with strong experience with other cloud technologies
• Commercial experience of technology like Azure Data Bricks, and SQL Data Warehouse, or Azure Data Factory would be advantageous
• Professional communication skills with the ability to liaise with technical senior stakeholders
• Strong CI/CD engineering practices including ideally TDD, A/B Testing and Automation Testing
• Knowledge of ETL techniques and working on end-to-end solutions
• Experience within technical management and Agile working, particularly SCRUM or Kanban methodologies

Salary: c£60K – 70K DOE  

Location: Nottingham City Centre 

Hours: Monday to Friday, full time (remote during Covid 19)
