Express Recruitment are excited to be working alongside a reputable local authority, looking for a confident and friendly individual to work as a SEND Transport Officer temporarily in their team. Our client requires an experienced and knowledgeable Special Education Needs and Disabilities professional who can hit the ground running to assist with challenges of home to school transport operations.

The role is part of a specialised task force that’s implementing structural change and information to the school transport services. It will be a full time, Monday to Friday role, working 37 hours per week (9:00am-5:00pm). It is starting at c£16.25 DOE Per Hour + Holiday Pay.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the delivery of day-to-day transport services for SEND students
• Oversee transport planning and scheduling
• Develop and manage efficient transport schedules, ensuring optimal use of resources and adherence to timetables
• Managing stakeholder collaboration and acting as the primary contact for schools, transport providers, and parents
• Respond promptly to transport incidents, service disruptions, or complaints
• Assisting the managers in supporting and supervising team colleagues
• Liaising with transport providers to monitor compliance with contractual terms

Skills & Experience 

• High level of IT competency
• A great communicator within the transport industry
• Familiar with relevant legislation within home and school transport
• Excellent time management and organisational skills regarding transport deadlines
