Testimony to their ongoing success, they are now seeking the services of a vastly experienced Workshop Manager, with proven ‘hands on’ embroidering and textile machinery skills, who can also lead and motivate a team of talented machinists.

You will be contracted to a 37.5-hour week, working Monday to Thursday 8:00am – 4:30pm, with a 1:00pm finish on Friday.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Manage the day-to-day duties of the Machining team, ensuring quality standards are adhered to and KPI targets are met
• Deal frequently with textile suppliers to ensure correct stock levels are maintained
• Consult directly with customers to take down details of bespoke specifications and request special orders of fabrics from suppliers
• Chair weekly team meetings and outline objectives and metric targets
• Inspect finished upholstery and soft furnishing products and highlight quality issues relating to stitching, fabric quality, discrepancies with tolerances
• Liaise closely with internal logistics department to ensure the timely dispatch of finished goods
• Promote ‘safety first’ policies and procedures throughout the workshop and assist with audits and risk assessments

Skills & Experience  

• Advanced lockstitch machining skills essential
• Broad product knowledge of soft furnishing products e.g., bedding, curtains, blinds
• Confident working in a fast-paced production environment with daily targets
• Experience dealing with and negotiating with suppliers highly desirable
• Excellent communicator on all senior levels
• Formal Health & Safety qualification desirable but not essential
• Flexible with overtime when required
