Due a recent company merger and continued growth resulting in a stacked-out order book, our client is seeking the addition of a Senior Software Developer to join their growing development team.

Please note, this role is a full time, office-based role, with very occasional opportunities to attend client sites to provide expert software support during system commissioning phase. Once settled in the role, there is an opportunity to exercise a hybrid working option after a period of 6-12 months.  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Contribute to each phase of the software life cycle, including design, programming, configuration and implementation  
• Maintain a series of VB.NET legacy systems  
• Convert programs into web applications, eventually migrating business wide VB.NET legacy software to C# 
• Develop software and key function commands for bespoke automation pilot systems using a mix of C, SQL, XML, MS Visual Studio and VB.NET 
• Develop and maintain key knowledge of bespoke ERP system, and assist with maintaining database systems, including dashboards and extracting analytic reports to review performance 
• Utilise SQL databases daily to produce detailed customized reports  
• Collaborate with the Software Tester to resolve bug tracker issues and facilitate API integrations and documentation  
• Consult closely with cross departmental management team, key stakeholders and on-site customers  

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working with VB.NET framework and associated web development languages such a JavaScript and HTML 
• Experience working with C# .NET web frameworks advantageous  
• Experience working with SQL databases   
• Previous experience in the process control or control system industry desirable   
• Experience configuring and implementing ERP systems highly advantageous  
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers  
• Full driving license and transport highly desirable
