Temporary NHS Receptionist – Smartcard Required

Overview

A local GP Surgery, with modern offices based in Bramcote. Our client is currently looking to recruit an experienced Temporary Receptionist to provide a comprehensive support service to members of the public, the successful candidate must already possess an NHS Smart Card login even if not the physical card (these remain valid for 3 years from date of issue). The role offers an immediate start date for a minimum of 3 months with potential permanent opportunities also available for candidates who impress!

The role will be working across Monday – Friday with different shift opportunities covering 7am – 6pm for example a permanent shift of 7am -12pm or 12pm-6pm.

The successful candidate will need to have a valid standard or enhanced DBS Check which is dated in the past 12 months, alongside a Smart Card which is either in date, or be willing to have this updated if required.

Skills & Experience
  • Must possess a Smart Card or have been issued with one in the last 3 years
  • Professional and polite telephone manner
  • Experience of using MS Office or GP databases
  • Fast and accurate data entry skills
  • Able to work within sensitive environments and understand Data Protection
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Meet and greet patients into the surgery
  • Handle a high volume of incoming telephone calls
  • Book appointments for patients, both urgent and routine
  • Assist with the delivery of prescriptions after patient appointments
  • Respond to general telephone and email enquiries
  • Use MS Office to update sensitive patient data
