Express Recruitment are proud business partners with one of the UK’s leading food manufacturing firms. Due to ever increasing success and rapid growth, our client are seeking highly experienced and competent engineers to join their talented maintenance team. The role will be based at their manufacturing facility in Nottingham, East Midlands.

The salary for this role pays £36-37k (Inc. shift premium) and the working hours will consist of a continental shift pattern with an occasional 12 hour working day shift.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Engineering Team Leader with all aspects of engineering operations in order to maintain a smooth running and fully optimized engineering performance
  • Attend machine breakdowns on all PPM systems, and identify root cause of machine faults
  • Ensure all PPM paperwork and documentations is completed accurately
  • Incorporate LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement methods into production to ensure ultimate efficiency and reduction in downtime
  • Maintain high standards of Health & Safety in the workplace, adhering to all relevant hygiene and legislation
  • Assist with the commissioning of new production machinery and equipment and carry out full scale testing
  • Train and monitor apprentices and schedule aspects of their workloads
  • Assist with internal quality control inspections and Health & Safety audits
  • Report and discrepancies or repeat fault issues with machinery to the Engineering Team Leader
  • Order spare parts and materials needed for maintenance repair works, ensuring archive documents and invoices are recorded safely
  • Read and follow engineering drawings and schematic diagrams

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Full apprenticeship or City & Guilds in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering
  • Previous experience in an FMCG environment strongly desirable
  • Knowledge of fault finding on PPM systems
  • Excellent Health & Safety awareness and knowledge of other legislation
  • Ability to work unsupervised from engineering drawings
  • Ability to communicate effectively with people on all levels
