Job Description

Express Recruitment are working on behalf of a global leading engineering specialist based in Nottingham. Due to increasing client base and huge financial growth, they are seeking an experienced and analytical Quality Manager to spearhead their Quality department.

Due to the demanding nature of the role and senior level of responsibility, candidates must be flexible in their approach to occasional overseas travel.

Duties and Responsibilities outlined but not limited to:

  • Manage and maintain quality management systems ensuring they are fully adhered to at all times
  • Assist with the implementation of LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement of products
  • Be on hand to resolve quality issues when they arise with the upmost professionalism
  • Carry out regular quality control inspections, audits, testing and Health & Safety precautions
  • Train and mentor engineers, management staff and clients on quality related topics
  • Carry out risk assessments and rigorous testing in order to assess the safety, performance and reliability of potential new designs
  • Work with the following systems – FMEA, FEA, SMED, 8D, Six Sigma
  • Implement pre-production assembly techniques and equipment and incorporate current LEAN manufacturing processes
  • Assist with the pre selection process of suppliers based on their ability to perform and meet quality standards and Health & Safety expectations
  • Strive to continue building strong business relationships with internal and external suppliers

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Degree/HND in Engineering or Metallurgy
  • Experience working with a variety of ferrous and non-ferrous materials
  • Possess the ability to coach and mentor staff to exceptional standards
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbally
  • Excellent knowledge of implementing and adhering to LEAN manufacturing and continuous improvement techniques
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001:2015, OHSAS:18001, ISO 13485:2003 & EN ISO 13485:2012
  • Thrives on working in a goal driven environments and has proven knowledge of achieving results
