CAD Technician

Overview

Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established, highly reputable engineering consultancy with over 40 years of industry success. Due to an expanding project pipeline, they are seeking an experienced CAD Technician to join their collaborative design team working on high-profile developments across the commercial, residential, industrial, healthcare, and education sectors valued up to £50m.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience producing structural design drawings within the UK built environment
  • High proficiency in AutoCAD (experience using Revit or RC detailing software is advantageous but not essential)
  • Relevant qualification in Building Studies, Civil/Structural Engineering (HNC, HND, or Degree) is desirable
  • Proven track record delivering structural drawing packages across timber, masonry, concrete, and structural steelwork
  • Strong communication skills and a self-motivated, proactive approach to drawing office production.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Produce precise technical structural drawings for varied schemes across commercial, residential, healthcare, and industrial sectors
  • Create structural layouts and details for projects valued up to £50M across steel, concrete, masonry and timber construction, as well as sub-structures
  • Generate and revise accurate structural drawing packages directly from design briefs, engineer mark-ups, and calculations
  • Work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision, collaborating with engineers and multidisciplinary teams to hit key project deadlines
