Digital Marketing Manager – Paid Media

Overview

Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a growing digital marketing agency who are looking to recruit an experienced Paid Media specialist to lead a team of five and form part of their Senior Leadership Team.

This is an opportunity to combine hands-on campaign expertise with genuine influence over an agency’s direction. You will oversee performance across Paid Media and SEO, support and challenge channel specialists, and help shape how the team delivers results for clients. Paid Media will be your core specialism, supported by a strong strategic understanding of SEO.

Working with a predominantly UK-based client portfolio across Manufacturing, Engineering and Construction, you will oversee monthly advertising budgets ranging from £500 to £10,000. You will play a central role in client strategy and team development, while remaining close to campaign delivery and optimisation.

A remuneration package of up to c£40,000 per annum is on offer, alongside a company pension, free parking and hybrid working opportunities. This role offers the scope to put your agency experience into practice at leadership level, with direct input into team standards, client performance and the agency’s continued growth.

Skills & Experience
  • A minimum of five years’ experience in digital or performance marketing, including experience within a digital marketing agency
  • A strong Paid Media specialism, with significant hands-on experience managing and optimising Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns
  • A strong strategic understanding of SEO and the ability to review performance, challenge recommendations and support channel specialists
  • Experience managing advertising budgets, interpreting campaign data and turning insights into commercially focused decisions
  • Experience leading or line managing team members, with the ability to set expectations, develop others and manage competing priorities
  • Confident client management and presentation skills, with the ability to explain performance clearly and provide credible strategic recommendations
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Line manage a team of five, providing clear direction, coaching and support to strengthen individual performance and campaign delivery
  • Form part of the Senior Leadership Team, contributing to decisions around team development, service delivery and the agency’s growth
  • Oversee SEO and Paid Media performance across client portfolios, reviewing strategies, KPIs and results to ensure activity supports clients’ commercial objectives
  • Challenge and support channel specialists, identifying underperformance and agreeing clear optimisation and recovery plans
  • Act as a senior point of contact for clients, leading strategy discussions and performance reviews while supporting Account Leads with recommendations and reporting
  • Plan, build, manage and optimise Paid Media campaigns across Google Ads, Meta, Microsoft Ads and LinkedIn where hands-on support is required
  • Oversee monthly advertising budgets of £500–£10,000 and review reporting and client-facing outputs for accuracy, insight and quality
