Electrical Fitter

Overview

Express Recruitment are excited to be working with a well-established manufacturer of bespoke machinery and special purpose equipment for customers across 100 countries globally. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking an experienced Electrical Fitter to join their shopfloor team of talented Engineers.

This is a full time, permanent position, contracted to 37 hours per week. The working hours are 8am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday (flexibility for 7:30am start), with a 1pm finish on Friday.

In return, you will receive a generous starting salary of up to £33,000 (salary review after completion of probation), plus annual free profit share bonus (tax free up to £3k), 6.5% pension contribution, 26 days holiday plus stats (increases with length of service), x3 life assurance and genuine opportunities to progress and broaden skillset with a dynamic and innovative employer.

Skills & Experience
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Electrical Engineering  
  • Proven experience working independently from technical assembly drawings and schematic diagrams 
  • Experienced working in a precision engineering manufacturing background preferred  
  • Experience in assembling special purpose machinery and instrumentation equipment  
  • Experienced in the bench fitting of LV electrical components, such as control panels, sensors, hydraulics, pneumatics and inverter drive systems   
  • Experience in wiring, crimping and soldering desirable 
  • Appreciation of mechanical engineering and fitting desirable  
  • Ability to work independently and be self-motivated to delivery projects in a timely manner  
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Working independently from build sheets and CAD assembly drawings to build and fit electrical components onto special purpose machinery and automation equipment  
  • Inspect the build sheet packs to ensure the correct drawings have been issued  
  • Wire, build and install a variety of components and systems including control panels, inverters, low voltage instrumentation equipment, hydraulics and variable speed drives  
  • Inspect electrical parts to ensure they meet required standard prior to fitting  
  • Report any technical or quality related issues to the Production Manager  
  • Collaborate with workshop machining personnel to request amendments and refinery of engineering parts 
  • Collaborate with Test Engineers to ensure new built products meet functional specifications   
  • Work towards project delivery deadlines without compromising quality of finish
