Field Sales Executive

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing FMCG business, as they look to strengthen their Sales team with the appointment of an experienced Field Sales Executive.

This role is based within a fast-paced sales environment and would suit a commercially driven and proactive individual looking to build a long-term career within sales. The successful candidate will be responsible for winning new business, developing existing accounts and growing sales across the food industry, with a particular focus on Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese takeaway customers throughout the Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge areas.

There is an excellent remuneration package on offer including a basic salary of up to c£34,000 per annum with an OTE of £75,000, alongside a company car, pension, annual leave and the opportunity to join a successful and expanding organisation offering long-term career development.

Skills & Experience
  • Ideally from an Oriental/Asian background, with the ability to communicate confidently with Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese takeaway customers.
  • A keen desire to build a long-term career within sales, with the confidence, energy and motivation to develop new business.
  • Experience in a customer-facing role with strong relationship-building and communication skills.
  • Experience working in retail, hospitality, wholesale or FMCG would be advantageous, although full training will be provided.
  • A valid UK driving licence and flexibility to work 12pm–9pm, alongside the ability to travel throughout the territory.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Identify, approach and secure new takeaway and wholesale customers, targeting Chinese, Thai and Vietnamese food businesses across the Peterborough, Norwich and Cambridge areas.
  • Develop new business through proactive lead generation, taking opportunities from initial contact through to account development and long-term customer relationships.
  • Grow sales and customer spend across existing accounts by identifying opportunities to introduce new products, ranges and categories.
  • Conduct regular face-to-face customer visits and develop an effective territory call plan, working towards agreed sales, distribution and new business targets.
  • Work closely with Sales, Buying and Operations teams to support customer requirements and identify opportunities to grow sales across the territory.
