General Manager – Events, Hospitality & Venue Operations

Overview

Are you an experienced General Manager with a background in events, hospitality, venue management or food and beverage operations, looking for an opportunity to lead a diverse commercial operation within a well-established business and run large scale events of up to c20,000 attendees?

Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a respected venue in their search for a General Manager to oversee events, hospitality, venue operations and food and beverage functions reporting directly to the CEO.

This role would suit a commercially driven senior leader who enjoys managing multiple departments, developing new business opportunities and delivering exceptional customer experiences. You'll take overall responsibility for commercial performance, operational delivery, team leadership and compliance, maximising revenue across corporate events, private functions, live entertainment and hospitality.

Alongside a salary of up to c£45,000 per annum, you'll have the opportunity to shape the future of the business’s events and hospitality operation, develop new revenue streams and lead a multidisciplinary team within a busy sporting and entertainment environment.

Skills & Experience
  • Significant senior management experience within events, hospitality, venue management, leisure, entertainment or a similar commercial environment
  • Proven experience managing multiple departments, budgets, revenue and profitability
  • Experience leading and developing multidisciplinary teams within a busy operational setting
  • Strong understanding of event planning, sales, venue operations, food and beverage management and customer service
  • Knowledge of premises licensing, health and safety, event risk management and operational compliance
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead the business’s events, hospitality, food and beverage, and venue operations
  • Oversee the full event lifecycle, from sales enquiries and contract negotiations through to planning, delivery and post-event review
  • Manage and develop the Events & Sales, Food & Beverage and venue operations teams, setting clear objectives and maintaining high service standards
  • Maximise opportunities across corporate events, private functions, live entertainment, conferences and matchday hospitality
  • Ensure events are appropriately planned, staffed, risk assessed and delivered in line with licensing, health and safety and food safety requirements
