HGV Yard Co-Ordinator

Overview

Do you possess a class 2 (Category C) licence? Looking for a role where you can be home every day before 3pm?  Our client are looking to recruit a reliable and hands-on Yard Controller to join their Nottingham team, offering an excellent opportunity for an experienced Class 2 driver to transition into a Nottingham based role without the demands of long days and unsociable hours.

This is an exciting opportunity for a practical, organised individual who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and takes pride in maintaining high standards. In this role, you'll take ownership of the day-to-day management of the yard, ensuring vehicles are clean, well-presented and ready for hire or collection.

Working closely with both the rental and workshop teams, you'll coordinate vehicle movements, carry out routine inspections, maintain a safe and organised site, and support the smooth running of daily operations.

Skills & Experience
  • HGV Class C Licence (Essential).
  • A full UK Driving Licence.
  • Attention to detail.
  • The ability to remain calm and organised under pressure.
  • A proactive, can-do attitude with the confidence to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills with colleagues, customers and suppliers.
  • Knowledge of commercial vehicles.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Conduct daily yard inspections to ensure the site remains clean
  • Clean and valet commercial vehicles to a consistently high standard.
  • Carry out routine vehicle and ancillary equipment checks, including tail lifts.
  • Identify and report vehicle defects promptly and accurately.
  • Organise and move vehicles around the site to maximise efficiency
