Are you an experienced Administrator looking to take your first step into HR within a high-profile organisation, where every day brings something different? Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a prestigious and widely recognised organisation in Derby in their search for a confident and proactive Part-Time HR Administrator to join their close-knit HR team.

Based within a unique and fast-paced environment, this is a brilliant opportunity to gain hands-on exposure across recruitment, onboarding, employee records, training and wider HR administration. You’ll become an important member of a small team, supporting employees across all areas of the organisation and helping to ensure its people processes run smoothly.

Previous HR experience would be welcomed but is not essential. The organisation is equally happy to consider someone with at least one year’s strong administration experience who genuinely wants to begin a career in HR. Personality is particularly important, they are looking for someone personable, confident and proactive who can take ownership of tasks, use their initiative and get stuck in from the outset.

In return, the successful candidate will receive a salary of pro rata £25,000 alongside 25 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays pro rata, a company pension, health cash plan, staff events, discounts, training opportunities and a range of unique employee benefits connected to the organisation.

Skills & Experience
  • At least one year’s experience within an administration-based role
  • Previous HR or recruitment administration experience would be advantageous but is not essential
  • An interest in developing a career within HR
  • Confident, personable and able to build positive working relationships
  • Proactive and capable of managing tasks independently
  • Excellent organisation and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise a varied workload and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams
  • Previous customer service experience would be beneficial
  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade C/4 or above
  • CIPD Level 3 or another relevant qualification would be advantageous
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle are essential due to occasional travel between sites
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Maintain accurate employee records and update the HR system
  • Process starters, leavers and contractual changes
  • Prepare contracts, offer letters and variation letters using approved templates
  • Support the onboarding process and ensure all required documentation is completed
  • Advertise vacancies and coordinate candidate communications
  • Schedule interviews and support with interview note-taking
  • Assist with initial interviews conducted through Microsoft Teams
  • Maintain recruitment spreadsheets, records and documentation
  • Monitor mandatory training and update employee training records
  • Coordinate training sessions and maintain attendance information
  • Manage routine queries received through the HR inbox
  • Prepare documentation and take minutes during HR meetings when required
  • Produce routine reports and provide general administrative support to the wider HR team
  • Maintain confidentiality and ensure records comply with GDPR and safeguarding requirements
