Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader – 12 Month Contract

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a reputable Local Authority, who are seeking an experienced and motivated Repairs & Maintenance Team Leader to join their Corporate Repairs Team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a lead role within a busy operational service, overseeing a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives across a diverse corporate property portfolio.

The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating responsive repairs, planned maintenance and minor capital works across key Council buildings, including the Town Hall, libraries, depots, crematoriums and major office accommodation.

The successful candidate will also act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, providing technical oversight and ensuring electrical works are delivered safely and in accordance with BS 7671 and NICEIC requirements.

Skills & Experience
  • Relevant electrical qualification to NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
  • City & Guilds 2391-52 Inspection & Testing qualification, or equivalent
  • Significant experience within electrical maintenance and supervision
  • Strong knowledge of BS 7671, electrical safety, health & safety and CDM regulations
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and manage an operational team
  • Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills
  • A customer-focused approach with the ability to work effectively in a demanding environment
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Lead, supervise and support a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives
  • Plan and coordinate responsive repairs, planned maintenance and minor electrical works
  • Allocate resources, materials, plant, vehicles and subcontractors effectively
  • Act as NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, overseeing electrical inspection, testing and compliance
  • Ensure works meet electrical regulations, health and safety, CDM and Council requirements
  • Monitor workloads, performance and service delivery using relevant ICT systems
  • Promote excellent customer service, safe working practices and continuous improvement
