Supply Chain Administrator

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a well-established and growing business within the construction and building materials sector, as they look to appoint an experienced Supply Chain Administrator to join their operations team.

This role is based within a busy supply chain environment and would suit an organised and proactive administrator with experience across purchasing, stock control, logistics or supplier coordination. The successful candidate will support the smooth running of purchasing and logistics operations, ensuring stock availability, accurate records, timely deliveries and strong supplier relationships.

There is an excellent remuneration package on offer including a salary of £27,500 per annum, alongside a bi-annual performance-related bonus, 26 days annual leave plus bank holidays, Christmas shutdown, healthcare, life assurance and ongoing training and development opportunities.

Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience within a purchasing, supply chain, logistics, stock control or similar administrative role.
  • Strong administration and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to prioritise effectively.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook; experience with Sage, stock control or purchasing systems advantageous.
  • Experience with import/export documentation, transport administration or working within a customer-focused environment would be advantageous.
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Coordinate purchasing, stock control and logistics activities, ensuring materials are available when required and orders are processed accurately.
  • Raise and monitor purchase orders, liaise with suppliers regarding pricing, availability and lead times, and expedite outstanding deliveries where required.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound deliveries with couriers, hauliers and third-party providers, ensuring accurate documentation and proof of delivery.
  • Maintain accurate stock, supplier and purchasing records, supporting stock counts, audits, reconciliations and investigation of discrepancies.
  • Work closely with warehouse, operations, sales, customers and suppliers to resolve queries, improve processes and maintain high service standards.
