Temporary Contracts Manager

Overview

Express Recruitment are delighted to be working in partnership with a leading housing organisation, who are seeking an experienced Contracts Manager to join their busy operational team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to take responsibility for the delivery of repairs, maintenance, adaptations and minor capital works across a large housing portfolio.

The successful candidate will ideally have an IOSH qualification to undertake this role, as they will play a key role in ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, within budget and to the required standards.

Skills & Experience
  • IOSH Managing Safely qualification is essential
  • Proven experience managing repairs and maintenance teams within a housing, construction or property environment
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements and operational compliance
  • Experience managing contractors, subcontractors and direct labour teams
  • Strong understanding of budgets, KPIs and contract performance
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • A strong customer-focused approach with the ability to build effective relationships
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee employees delivering repairs, maintenance, adaptations and minor capital works
  • Ensure properties are comprehensively inspected and works are accurately specified and valued
  • Monitor budgets, contract requirements, KPIs and service standards
  • Ensure full compliance with health and safety policies, procedures and relevant legislation
  • Oversee gas compliance across direct labour and subcontracted works
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients, customers and residents
  • Provide day-to-day support and relief cover for the Head of Delivery when required
  • Promote a strong customer-focused culture and continuous improvement across the service
