Temporary Health & Safety Advisor

Overview

Our client is a large, well-established and complex organisation with a diverse operational estate spanning multiple sites across the region. Due to continued growth within the Health and Safety Team, they’re looking to hire a capable Temporary Health and Safety Advisor who can hit the ground running, work independently and manage a varied workload without the need for close supervision.

Working across multiple sites, you will provide practical Health & Safety support, undertake audits and inspections, investigate incidents and support the organisation with ongoing compliance activity and action plans. Whilst this is not a leadership role, it offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced Health & Safety professional to make an immediate impact within a large and diverse organisation.

Skills & Experience
  • A recognised NEBOSH qualification
  • Relevant practical Health & Safety experience
  • Experience undertaking Health and Safety audits and inspections within a large, complex or multi-site organisation
  • Experience investigating accidents and incidents, with a practical solutions focused approach
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
  • The flexibility to travel between sites when required
  • Experience of contractor management would be desirable but is not essential
Roles & Responsibilities
  • Undertake Health & Safety audits and workplace inspections across multiple sites
  • Lead and support accident and incident investigations, identifying appropriate corrective actions
  • Support the management and monitoring of Health & Safety compliance activities
  • Contribute to action plans and help ensure agreed actions are progressed and closed out
  • Provide practical Health & Safety advice and support to relevant stakeholders
  • Support contractor management activities where required
  • Raise purchase orders and undertake general Health & Safety administration
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation relating to audits, inspections, incidents and compliance
  • Travel between sites as required to undertake audits, inspections and investigations
  • Manage a varied workload effectively and work with a high degree of autonomy
