Express Recruitment was established in 1987 by Rick and Lesley Beauchamp. From the day the doors opened, the aim was simple: exceed expectations every time, for the clients we recruit for and the candidates we represent. Almost forty years later, that is still the standard every consultant works to.

We have always recruited in the East Midlands, and we still do. From our offices in Nottingham, Derby and Leicester we grew into the preferred recruitment partner for many companies across the wider Midlands, including some of the region’s most reputable organisations. That growth came from doing the work well and being trusted with the next vacancy, not from chasing volume.

As those relationships developed, we slowly broadened our reach beyond the region and across the UK. Today we have a foundation of clients and candidates right across the country, supported by teams of specialist consultants providing permanent and temporary recruitment across our divisions.

Express has always been a family business. Lesley Beauchamp still leads the company as Managing Director, alongside her son Charlie and his wife Theo. Theo joined in 2014 and worked her way through different divisions, becoming known for her people-focused approach, before being appointed Director in 2021. Charlie joined in 2016, bringing enthusiasm and fresh ideas that played a key role in the growth of the business, and was appointed Director in 2018.

Along the way the business has been recognised for how it works as well as what it delivers. In 2019 we won Employer of the Year and Family Business of the Year at the Nottinghamshire Live Business Awards, and were named the East Midlands’ Leading Full-Service Recruitment Agency by Acquisition International. In 2023 Theo received the Generation Next Future Leader Award and Express won a Volunteering & Charitable Impact Award, and in 2024 and 2025 we were ranked among the top three recruitment agencies in Nottingham.
