Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-respected care home in the Worksop area with an opportunity for an experienced Chef.

In this role, you’ll take the lead in preparing nutritious, high-quality meals for approximately 50 residents, ensuring all dietary requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen management. You’ll play a key part in enhancing residents’ quality of life through well-balanced, freshly prepared food.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals in accordance with set menus and dietary needs
• Ensure all dishes are presented to a high standard and served on time
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
• Oversee stock control, ordering and rotation of ingredients
• Manage and support kitchen assistants to ensure smooth daily operations
• Adhere strictly to food hygiene, health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with care staff to accommodate individual resident preferences and nutritional requirements

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook within a care home or catering environment
• Understanding of food hygiene and safety standards (Level 2 or above Food Hygiene Certificate desirable)
• Ability to plan menus and manage stock efficiently
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively under pressure
• A caring, team-oriented attitude with attention to detail
• Willingness to obtain or provide a valid DBS certificate
