Our client is looking for Teaching Assistants or similar professionals who have had exposure to teaching students aged 11-16. They have a genuine reputation for their excellent contribution to the the personal development of young people with SEND, and have helped a high volume of individuals to progress their learning skills.

Applications from people with interesting and varied backgrounds are hugely encouraged, as the client is very keen to see what each applicant can individually bring to the table! Our client welcomes applications from people who can work either on a part-time or full-time basis. A minimum of 3 days per week is required and candidates need to be able to work to standard school term times.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Act as a support and mentor for the children and young people who are enrolled
• Support the delivery of academic subjects up to GCSE level, Functional Skills and Vocational Qualifications
• Attend and support educational sessions and activities along with life-skills such as Food and Nutrition and Gardening skills
• Think outside the box to encourage learning and development outside the office and within their community
• Provide 1-2-1 support for SEN and SEND needs as required
• Update records with learners’ information accordingly

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience working with young people (10-16), supporting Maths and English skills
• Desire to translate knowledge and experience into helping young people
• Enhanced DBS Check essential or willingness to process following interview
• Previous experience with SEN or SEND learners desirable
• Understanding of safeguarding legislation and data protection
• Flexibility with hours is desirable
