Express Recruitment are excited to be working in partnership with one of the UK’s leading supply chain specialists of heavy industrial equipment and castings. Our client caters for growing worldwide sectors from mining to construction. Due to continued success they are keen to recruit a highly attentive and technically astute Global Manufacturing Quality Lead.

The successful candidate will drive manufacturing process improvement operations throughout the business. This is a demanding and varied role that requires travel overseas to China and other parts of Asia to visit manufacturing facilities typically 3 to 4 times per year.

In return you will receive a competitive starting salary of up to £50,000 D.O.E, 33 days holiday, a health cash plan, profit share scheme and additional leave for birthdays and Christmas shopping.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Ensure industrial parts and precision components are thoroughly assessed and inspected prior to exporting to suppliers
  • Consult closely with customers to ensure any issues are resolved in an efficient and professional manner
  • Coordinate risks and FMEAs to the Technical Director
  • Take ownership of the implementation of CSR policies within all factories to protect employee welfare
  • Investigate and implement Continuous Improvement and LEAN manufacturing techniques * Apply in depth knowledge of fabrication, casting, tooling and materials to vendor processes
  • Prepare detailed product reports based on market research and competitor trends
  • Attend and represent the company at educational workshops
  • Travel to various manufacturing facilities throughout the UK and overseas to assist with process improvements

Skills & Experience

  • HND or Degree in Manufacturing or Mechanical Engineering or a similar field
  • Demonstrable background within product development and industrial manufacturing
  • Proven knowledge of castings and heavy fabrication is strongly preferred
  • Good understanding of applying FEA and FMEA analysis
  • LEAN Manufacturing Champion with in depth understanding of Kaizen, 5s, Six Sigma, 8D, 5Y and Poka-Yoke
  • Ability to read and interpret CAD drawings (CREO) * Capability of modifying 2D or 3D drawings is desirable
  • Solid shopfloor experience with knowledge of milling, turning, grinding, fabrication and welding
  • Flexible with UK and overseas travel
  • Full UK driving licence and UK passport are essential
