Are you a skilled and solution-focused Building Surveyor with a knack for diagnosing and resolving complex building issues, particularly damp and mould? This is your chance to join a forward-thinking Housing Association where your expertise will directly improve residents’ homes and protect vital housing assets, this contract will last for a minimum of 3 months with the possibility of extension. Excellent pay is on offer, with rates available up to £40 per hour with mileage also covered. The role also will only cover the East Midlands meaning no overnight stays!

You’ll take ownership of challenging cases including damp and mould, disrepair claims, and structural faults, ensuring every project is delivered to the highest standard. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and take pride in getting things right the first time, we’d love to hear from you.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Investigate and resolve complex building issues, including damp and mould, disrepair claims, and structural faults
  • Apply HHSRS and building pathology knowledge to identify and address hazards
  • Provide technical guidance, post-inspections, and quality assurance for property works
  • Manage a varied caseload, ensuring projects meet time, quality, and budget requirements
  • Liaise with residents, contractors, and colleagues to deliver practical, resident-focused solutions
  • Support delivery of ad hoc planned works and review home improvement requests
  • Contribute to service improvement initiatives within the Property Directorate

Skills and Experience

  • Proven track record in managing complex property repairs and diagnostics
  • Strong understanding of housing construction, NHF Schedule of Rates, and maintenance practices
  • Expertise in damp and mould assessment and HHSRS hazard identification
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain technical issues in plain language
  • Full UK driving licence and own vehicle for business use
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments
