Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a construction consultancy who are currently seeking to recruit a knowledgeable Surveyor to support them with their long term growth plans.

This role will be an excellent opportunity for someone who holds excellent attention to detail and is looking to build on their existing Building Surveying experience, and in return you’ll be given the opportunity to undertake a position with a radius of no more than 30 miles of your home address, time paid from door to door & the opportunity to undertake company sponsored qualifications.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Carry out site inspections and building condition surveys to identify defects, assess maintenance requirements, and produce detailed technical reports
  • Prepare specifications, drawings and tender documentation for refurbishment, maintenance, and repair works
  • Manage and oversee building projects from feasibility through to completion, including contract administration and site visits
  • Advise clients on building regulations, planning permissions, and statutory compliance
  • Liaise with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and consultants to ensure works are delivered on time, within budget, and to required standards

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in delivering a wide range of building surveying duties, including defect diagnosis, planned maintenance, dilapidations, and technical reporting within residential, commercial, or public sector environments
  • Proven ability to work independently and reliably in complex or niche settings, such as listed buildings, heritage sites, or operational environments where access and coordination require careful planning
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to develop and maintain professional relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including clients, contractors, consultants, and local authorities
  • Positive, self-motivated approach to managing varied workloads, balancing reactive tasks with longer-term project responsibilities while maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance
  • Adaptable and approachable when working with tenants, clients or building users, able to communicate technical matters in a clear and confident way to support understanding and resolution
