Our client is a leading UK manufacturer of specialist niche structural building products. They aim to provide a manufacturing, installation and repair service to the Construction, Commercial and Civil engineering sectors. As part of their future growth strategy, they are actively recruiting for an exciting opportunity to join their talented team as a CAD Engineer & Estimator.  

The successful candidate will be essentially involved in pricing up multiple projects across a diverse client and product range, whilst also collaborating with the wider drawing office team to produce drawings in AutoCAD/Tekla. The company is based in Nottingham, East Midlands.  

They are offering a starting salary of up to £30,000. In addition, they offer occasional overtime opportunities, birthday off work, enhanced life assurance package, auto enrolled pension scheme, funded Tekla design training plus the opportunity to progress and develop throughout the company. 

Please note, our client can offer full Tekla training for the right candidate with sufficient AutoCAD experience.  

Roles and Responsibilities 

• Work from Steelwork G.A.s, Architects and Engineers Drawings to produce working floor deck layout drawings using integrated Tekla design package 
• Assist Sales department in producing tenders and project reports, highlighting any discrepancies 
• Maintain a secure record of legal documents and contracts using a bespoke ERP system 
• Assist in the preparation of quotes and pricing structures  
• Adhere to tight project deadlines 
• Undertake full training on the company’s products, policies and procedures 

Qualifications, Experience and Requirements

• Apprenticeship trained or HNC in relevant Engineering subject preferred  
• Proven experience in estimating quotes and assisting with the production of tenders  
• Experienced in design of steel and concrete structures highly advantageous  
• PC literate in Excel, AutoCAD and BIM package essential 
• Previous Tekla design experience highly desirable but training provided  
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings used in installation and fabrication projects
