With a longstanding reputation for delivering technical solutions across a variety of sectors, they are now looking to strengthen their pre-construction function with the addition of an experienced Estimator.

The successful candidate will take responsibility for reviewing tender documentation, producing accurate cost estimates, and preparing pricing reports for both internal and client-facing use. You’ll collaborate closely with technical teams, attend site visits to inform pricing decisions, and play a key role in handover meetings once contracts are secured.

Their ideal candidate will hold an engineering-based qualification and have at least three years of hands-on estimating experience. Strong commercial awareness, confidence using IT systems, and the ability to communicate effectively across departments will be essential for success in this role.

For the position, they are offering a salary of up to c£40,000 per annum depending on experience. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative and process-driven team, with access to high-impact projects and genuine career development pathways.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Analyse tender documentation and identify commercial and contractual risks
• Produce take-offs and detailed Bills of Quantities to support accurate pricing
• Attend site visits and incorporate findings into the estimation process
• Liaise with project delivery teams to determine build methods and resourcing
• Present pricing to Directors for final approval before tender submission
• Support colleagues with pricing checks and peer-review tender documents
• Prepare post-tender reports and lead internal handover meetings
• Promote high standards of safety, environmental awareness, and financial discipline

Skills and Experience

• Engineering qualification at Level 3 or above or time-served experience in a similar role
• Demonstrable experience in an Estimating role, with structural steel experience being highly desirable
• Strong knowledge of tender processes and contractual awareness
• Proficient with Microsoft Office including confidence producing detailed reports
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Personable and able to work well with technical and commercial stakeholders
• Experience using Microsoft Project or similar software is highly desirable
