Express Recruitment are proud to be supporting a local authority with an urgent requirement to start in January 2026. They are seeking an experienced Head of Fire Safety to join their team on a contract basis, focusing on ensuring fire safety compliance is up to date and ensuring adherence to strict Local Authority building regulations.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Leading the Fire Safety Team to ensure regulatory compliance, high performance and customer satisfaction
• Acting as the Responsible Person for fire safety, managing risk and representing regulators and industry bodies
• Developing, implementing and reviewing fire safety policies, procedures and processes in line with legislation
• Overseeing compliance, maintenance and servicing programmes and accurate record keeping
• Managing fire safety budgets and contracts to ensure value for money and financial compliance
• Leading procurement activities and support commercial decisions on contracts and out of scope works
• Providing regular compliance reporting and strategic input to senior leadership and the Executive Team
• Managing staff performance, complaints and emergency incidents and deputise for the Assistant Director of Compliance when required

Skills & Experience

• Strong leadership and team management experience
• Fire Safety Compliance expertise and up to date knowledge of regulations
• Demonstrable policy development and strategic planning experience
• Budget, contract and commercial management experience
• Stakeholder engagement and communication skills

Vacancy Summary

Salary: c£650.00 per day D.O.E

Location: Nottingham, East Midlands
