Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a reputable organisation who are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Risk & Compliance (Estates) to provide immediate support within a busy Estates function during an exciting transitional period. This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can quickly integrate into the team, ensure continuity across key projects, and maintain high standards of compliance and risk management.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Support the Estates function in delivering risk and compliance activities across the portfolio
  • Work closely with the Asbestos & Radon Manager on compliance and operational matters
  • Oversee and manage contracts relating to asbestos and wider estates services
  • Liaise effectively with external contractors and third-party providers
  • Lead and support project management activities, including reviews and audits of current contracts and processes
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and support implementation of new solutions
  • Issue permits and support safe working practices, including working at height procedures
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant health & safety and regulatory requirements
  • Provide continuity and handover support for key projects

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Risk & Compliance role within Estates, Facilities Management, or similar environments
  • Strong background in contract management, particularly within estates services (e.g. asbestos)
  • Experience working with health & safety compliance and permit systems
  • Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, including working with third parties
  • Proactive, collaborative approach with a focus on solutions rather than issues
  • Experience supporting or delivering audits, reviews, or process improvements
  • Comfortable working on-site and engaging with operational teams
