Are you experienced in Legal Aid billing or cost administration and looking to develop your career within a specialist Public Law department? Our client is a well-established organisation supporting high-profile Judicial Review and Community Care matters, offering strong progression opportunities and an above-market salary for the right candidate.

Due to continued growth, they are seeking a dedicated Costs & Legal Aid Administrator to join their Nottingham-based office on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting fee earners, handling Legal Aid billing processes, and ensuring accurate, timely submissions through CCMS.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone detail-focused, proactive and able to manage a high caseload while maintaining accuracy and compliance. You will be working alongside experienced professionals in a busy and supportive Public Law team.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit Legal Aid bills and Legal Help claims through CCMS
  • Manage rejected claims, prepare appeals and ensure all CCMS uploads meet LAA timescales
  • Liaise with Counsel’s Chambers to obtain fee notes and allocate fees accurately
  • Negotiate Inter-Partes settlements with paying parties
  • Support fee earners with administrative duties and ensure full compliance with Legal Aid KPI requirements

Skills & Experience

  • Experience within Legal Aid administration
  • Ability to work under pressure and process a high volume of financial claims accurately
  • Strong numeracy skills and excellent attention to detail
  • Confident communicator with effective written and verbal skills
