Do you have administrative or secretarial experience within a legal environment and looking for a long-term, stable role?

Our client is a well-established law firm with a highly respected Court of Protection team, supporting vulnerable individuals and their families with essential legal matters. Due to continued demand, they are looking to recruit an Administrator / Legal Secretary to join their supportive and dedicated team with hybrid working options upon completion of probation period, working 2 days a week from home.

The successful candidate will have experience within a legal or professional services setting, organisational skills, and the ability to communicate sensitively with clients and third parties. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone seeking a secure, steady role within a specialist area of law. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed administrative work, thrives in a structured environment, and is not seeking a training contract.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Draft, format and prepare legal documents including deputyship applications, witness statements, statutory wills and formal letters
  • Manage both paper and digital case files, ensuring accurate organisation and timely updates
  • Maintain diaries, schedule meetings and monitor important court deadlines
  • Open and close matters on the firm’s case management system
  • Handle incoming calls and emails from clients, family members, care providers, social workers and financial institutions
  • Arrange appointments, conferences and client meetings
  • Take detailed attendance notes during calls and meetings
  • Communicate sensitively and professionally with vulnerable clients and their families

Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience within a legal position essential
  • Attention to detail, particularly with form-heavy COP documentation
  • Written and verbal communication skills
  • Empathy, patience and professionalism when dealing with vulnerable clients
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and case management systems
