Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-established organisation based in Mansfield in their search for a diligent and experienced Payroll Clerk. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a friendly finance team within a stable and growing business. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll for employees across the organisation.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Process weekly and monthly payrolls accurately and efficiently
• Maintain and update payroll records in accordance with GDPR and company policy
• Calculate and process statutory payments including SSP, SMP, SPP, and holiday pay
• Reconcile payroll reports and resolve any discrepancies
• Prepare payroll journals and assist with month-end and year-end reporting
• Administer pension contributions and auto-enrolment duties
• Liaise with HMRC regarding PAYE, National Insurance, and tax code changes
• Support the wider finance team with administrative and reporting tasks as required

Skills & Experience

• Proven experience within a payroll position
• Understanding of current payroll legislation and statutory requirements
• Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
• Knowledge of payroll software (Sage Payroll)
• Organisational and numerical skills
• Able to handle confidential information appropriately
