Due to continued financial growth and an extremely healthy project pipeline, our client requires a Mid-Level SQL Technical Consultant to perform key DBA activities and manage various client engagements.   

On offer is an industry leading remuneration package, starting with a salary up to £55,000 plus remote working (willingness to travel to East Midlands based office on rare occasions), generous holiday package, sponsored training, out of hours overtime pay and progression opportunities to name but a few.  

Please note this role requires the successful candidate to work on out of hours call out rota every 1 in 4 weeks as per 24/7 support rota (running Friday PM to following Friday AM). Additional payment made plus additional payment for actions taken during on call shifts.  

Please note, due to the sensitive nature of some of their current clients, the successful candidate must be eligible for Security Clearance.  

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provide specialist DBA support across all SQL server database platforms 
• Carry out DBA tasks such as new installations, upgrades and troubleshooting on SQL databases 
• Manage SQL customers database in line with architectural standards  
• Carry out patching of the system based on latest installed database versions  
• Assist Senior team in coaching and mentoring Junior SQL DBA’s and set up workloads  
• Escalate urgent customer queries to Senior SQL Technical Consultants  
• Create accurate technical documentation for internal and external use 
• Support 24/7 on call team via rota (every 1 in 4 weeks) 

Skills & Experience

• Demonstrable DBA experience across SSIS, SSRS, MS-SQL, MySQL and T-SQL servers 
• Demonstrable knowledge with SQL Azure and Azure administration essential 
• Experienced in migration SQL from on premise to cloud  
• Confident user of Linux and Windows based servers 
• Confident working on upgrades, installations and root cause analysis activities  
• Proven knowledge in performance tuning  
• Proven stakeholder management experience on all senior levels  
• ITIL Foundation Trained desirable 
• Incident management experience  
• Excellent communication skills on all senior levels 
• Flexible with out of hours working when required  
• Experience working in an Agile environment
