Express Recruitment are delighted to be working with a leading Engineering Solutions Specialist who are looking to appoint an experienced Site Supervisor on a full-time, permanent basis.

Our client provides high-quality mechanical and electrical engineering solutions across major infrastructure and utilities projects. They are renowned for their commitment to safety, teamwork, and professional development, making this an excellent opportunity for a motivated Site Supervisor looking to take ownership of site operations and play a key role in successful project delivery.

The successful candidate will oversee day-to-day site activities, manage engineering teams, coordinate resources, and ensure all work is carried out safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards. You’ll act as the main link between project management and on-site teams, ensuring clear communication and compliance with all company procedures and health and safety standards.

Working hours are 7:00am to 3:00pm, Monday to Friday (please note this is not a door-to-door role — candidates must be on-site for a 7am start).

The role offers a competitive hourly rate of up to £19.05 p/h per hour, with potential to earn up to £55,000 per annum including overtime and away-working allowances. Additional benefits include 33 days annual leave (including bank holidays), a healthcare scheme after the first month, paid accommodation and subsistence for working away, working-away bonuses, professional development support, and regular company social events.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Supervise day-to-day site operations and manage engineering teams
• Coordinate tooling, permits, paperwork, and site logistics
• Lead site inductions, toolbox talks, and safety briefings
• Act as main point of contact between Project Managers, engineers, and clients
• Ensure permits to work are issued and site activities comply with RAMS and company safety procedures
• Provide feedback on site performance, health and safety, and training needs
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain safety and quality standards
• Monitor team efficiency and resource use to achieve project objectives
• Deputise for Project Managers when required and lead on-site progress reporting
• Attend site meetings and liaise with planning and technical teams

Skills and Experience

Essential:

• Recognised Level 3 qualification in a mechanical or engineering discipline, or 10+ years of site-based experience
• Proven experience supervising site-based engineering or construction teams
• Strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures and documentation (RAMS, CPPs, etc.)
• Confined Space trained (current certification)
• Crane Operations training (CPCS – Slinger/Signaller or Lift Supervisor)
• Valid First Aid at Work and SMSTS (CITB) qualifications
• Full UK Driving Licence

Desirable:

• PASMA or MEWP certification
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills
• Experience within the Water, Utilities, or Infrastructure sectors
