Express Recruitment are delighted to be supporting a well-respected care home in Sheffield with an exciting opportunity for two experienced Chefs to work 7:30 to 15:00 on a rota basis.

In this role, you will take the lead in preparing nutritious and high quality meals for approximately 50 residents, ensuring all dietary requirements are met while maintaining the highest standards of food hygiene and kitchen management. You will play a key part in enhancing residents’ quality of life through well-balanced and freshly prepared food.

All candidates will need to undergo a DBS check unless they have a current up to date certificate.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook meals in accordance with set menus and dietary needs
• Ensure all dishes are presented to a high standard and served on time
• Maintain a clean, safe and organised kitchen environment
• Oversee stock control, ordering and rotation of ingredients
• Manage and support kitchen assistants to ensure smooth daily operations
• Adhere strictly to food hygiene, health and safety regulations
• Collaborate with care staff to accommodate individual resident preferences and nutritional requirements

Skills & Experience

• Previous experience as a Chef or Cook within a care home or catering environment
• Strong understanding of food hygiene and safety standards
• Level 2 or above Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
• Ability to plan menus and manage stock efficiently
• Reliable, organised and able to work effectively under pressure
• A caring and team-oriented attitude with excellent attention to detail
• Willingness to obtain or provide a valid DBS certificate
