The successful candidate will create accurate technical drawings and production documents, supporting smooth handovers from design to manufacturing. They will manage product data and collaborate with multiple teams to ensure efficient, high-quality output. 

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable AutoCAD skills, experience in manufacturing or joinery, and a solid understanding of furniture production processes. They’ll be meticulous, organised, and confident using ERP systems to support workflow.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Produce detailed technical drawings to support manufacturing and workshop teams 
• Prepare cutting lists and CNC-ready files to streamline production workflows 
• Create and maintain accurate materials lists and component breakdowns 
• Input and update production data within internal systems to support scheduling Maintain product records including specifications, units, and routing details 
• Liaise with design, production, and procurement teams to ensure alignment 
• Review and adapt designs to improve efficiency and reduce material waste 
• Support process improvement projects and contribute to system refinements 
• Ensure all documentation meets quality, safety, and compliance standards 
• Provide support in estimating and preparing data for quoting when needed 

Skills and Experience

• Experience in a design or technical drafting role within the furniture manufacturing sector 
• Strong working knowledge of CAD software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp or SolidWorks 
• Confident producing workshop drawings and CNC-ready documentation 
• Understanding of nesting software and generating accurate cut lists 
• Comfortable working with internal systems to manage parts, materials, and orders 
• Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle multiple live projects 
• Familiar with manufacturing methods and materials used in joinery and furniture production 
• Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments 
• Qualifications in a relevant design, engineering or manufacturing field, or equivalent experience 
• Awareness of LEAN manufacturing processes and improving workflow efficiency is an advantage 
• Experience with business systems or ERP platforms such as Sage is beneficial
