Express Recruitment are proud to be working with a reputable law firm who specialise in the provision of a range of legal advice and services to individuals from all backgrounds. Due to recent growth within the Legal Aid Team, they are seeking an experienced Billing Assistant to join their team.  

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of legal aid processes and will confidently be able to process legal aid data via CCMS (Client and Cost Management Systems) with the focus of ensuring a smooth running of the Legal Aid service.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Process counsel fees and charges for clients onto CCMS system  
  • Liaise with external bodies to discuss fees and charges 
  • Ensuring the departments billings process is managed efficiently  
  • Assist with the finalisation of processing of Legal Aid bills for clients 
  • Liaise with the Legal Aid Billing Manager to prioritise and co-ordinate workloads 

Skills & Background 

  • Knowledge of Legal Aid policies, procedures and regulations within a legal firm 
  • Demonstrable ability/understanding of Client and Cost Management Systems  
  • Previous experience within a legal firm 
  • Excellent organisation and prioritisation skills 
  • Passion for supporting vulnerable people
